iJustine.com
Seeing that Justine and I have been talking about a re-do of her site for OVER A YEAR, this application, coming in true iJustine style and taste gets the selection for project number one here at Starving Designer. I’m so excited to kick things off with this project as we have been fumbling this thing around in our heads for what seems like for-e-ver! I couldn’t be more embarrassed i’ve taken so long happier to receive this application and select it as the first out of the gate. So here’s the drill…
As you see the episodes, tweets and posts, if there’s anything you think we should consider (even your help in some way), please let me know. I don’t expect any help but would welcome the opportunity to work with other creatives on any project.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled to our different social networks as well as this site for more juicy info on our progress and come ready to cast your ideas, opinions, suggestions and tips our way. There’s no better way to “Be Awesome” than through collaboration. That said… Here we go!

LET’S DO THIS!! YAH!
Definitely curious to hear what your opinion (and others’) is on SquareSpace and whether it would be a good fit for this project. Haven’t really gotten into it much so curious what other designers and front-end web developers are thinking about it.
I really do want the site to have 3 columns. It looks way too busy.
I really do NOT want the site to have 3 columns. It looks way too busy.
Good way to kick it off. Let’s go!
Can you just make it a tumblr, mask the URL and call it good, or is that what the craigslist guy would do?
Wow I’m excited to see what you guys decide to do!! Can’t wait!!
It has been so long, that justine had to takae down the banner in the blog that said “ijutine.com, coming soon!) LOL.
Glad you’re working on it!
Two ideas: Make the comments replyable, like in youtube…. and leave the backgrounds clean and clear. To dark bg’s are kinda tiring.
@brent
I love the Sketch Block Font!!! i been using it a lot latley!
This looks like it will be really cool!! Can’t wait to see more!!!!
Very excited to see the results of this project! It’ll be interesting to see what you think of Squarespace and whether or not the closed-source model will be as useful as alternatives like WordPress. Looks *very* promising, though! Can’t wait to see more!
This is going to be great! So many ways of approaching this one, can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Had a quick idea, and tried to put it together in photoshop. Here’s what I ended up with.. http://john-fuller.com/uploads/iJustine.png
It’s not that great, but I thought I’d try to get the ideas flowing.
Heya, well I like the layout of tastyblogsnack so what I was thinking is not having 3 columns that another user posted. Keep the Flat more spread out layout, but have 3 tabs on the top of the page (like a site created in iWeb). Then whenever a tab is chosen keep the same page layout but refresh the content. As for implementing the Twitter/Facebook connect that is a great idea, although the community idea I believe should been connected to your ning site. I’m not too sure on the customizable options of ning, but re-design that UI and use that as the faceplate but the URL should be a hang on to your actual blog. (eg) ijustine.com/community. So you’re redirecting the page to another server…
Use a fine, thin font like Justine used for a YouTube banner earlier this year.
Anyway.. They’re just a few idea’s that I’m sure you’ve already thought of!
I’m exited for ijustine.com
