What happens when you get a bunch of creatives in a room, open up the discussion to the planet and stream it live? Well, this Wednesday, July 15th, 2009 … we shall see!
Want to join us? (either in person or virtually) We’re posting all the info here
If you thought that CreateLiveAZ was short notice, this one’s our first “extremely unorganized and even shorter notice than the last event”, event that we have ever done. There is somewhat of a reason though. Gatherings like these need to be fairly impromptu (for now) as we are just trying to see what you guys find interesting and want to participate in. Once we figure out this whole thing, we’ll schedule these things way out and do all the proper promotions. For now, this is nothing more than what the first sentence says. A “see what happens” kind of event. On Wednesday @ approx 7pm AZ time, we will begin streaming from the Live Page and who knows what will happen, who will show up, drop by, chat away and (possibly) call in. All are welcome!
Here’s where I need your help… If you would be so kind to post some discussion topics via the comments here or wall on the facebook event page, I would greatly appreciate it. It’s a creative/design chat so if there are any ideas you have or would like to see/hear discussed live, we need to know. Anyway, thanks in advance. I’m looking forward to seeing how this thing comes out. Fingers crossed…

This Thursday, we will be hosting our first live event. We call it “CreateLive AZ” and the goal is to basically get a bunch of cool people together in a great location and create stuff. We will be streaming live in HD for those who can’t attend in person as well as answering questions via chat, twitter and email. This first event will feature Natasha Wescoat. Natasha is a respected, well known and talented artist that has recently moved here to AZ. She will be painting her latest creation live while we all hang out, watch and some of us will be creating in our own right. I will be attempting to revamp her website (with a few others) on Squarespace as well as collaborating on a few other design projects. The event should be a ton of fun so be sure to tune in or swing by to check it out. See you there (or virtually).
It has been an interesting week this week for my work on the AZEC09 design. Those of you that have followed via twitter or flickr are fairly up to speed on the progress. I will attempt to explain the progression in between the pictures. If there’s something specific you are wondering about, feel free to ask and I’ll be more than happy to respond. Be sure to check the post comments and responses on flickr. The discussions there are record of the realtime events that transpired to contribute to this design. We’ve got several more pages to layout but here’s the breakdown so far: Click here to read more »
Just wanted to point out that I have abandoned the Google Group idea. Nothing against Google, just sharpening things up here at sD. Really, it’s a matter of asking myself how many things I want to update when I post something here on sD. So seeing that no one had joined the group in the boom of today’s traffic, I decided to give it the boot. Honestly, I was already on the fence with the decision so I was just looking for that one tiny little reason to tip me over and today’s little test was just what I needed!
Seeing that Justine and I have been talking about a re-do of her site for OVER A YEAR, this application, coming in true iJustine style and taste gets the selection for project number one here at Starving Designer. I’m so excited to kick things off with this project as we have been fumbling this thing around in our heads for what seems like for-e-ver! I couldn’t be more embarrassed i’ve taken so long happier to receive this application and select it as the first out of the gate. So here’s the drill…
As you see the episodes, tweets and posts, if there’s anything you think we should consider (even your help in some way), please let me know. I don’t expect any help but would welcome the opportunity to work with other creatives on any project.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled to our different social networks as well as this site for more juicy info on our progress and come ready to cast your ideas, opinions, suggestions and tips our way. There’s no better way to “Be Awesome” than through collaboration. That said… Here we go!
